“The operation was a success … “ The words confirmed the realization of a life-long dream. Now I could live a normal life without the stigma of the affliction of epilepsy. It took a skilled neurosurgeon and his team to effect the healing for which I had prayed so long. But to my mind it was nothing short of miraculous. Now, each time I share my experience there are people who marvel at the faithfulness of a loving God.

Shortly after my healing, my wife of twenty-four years was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Devastated, I watched her waste away before my eyes over a short nine-month period. In my grief I promised that I would never again expose myself to such potential disappointment. But, try as I might, I couldn't get used to the aching loneliness of an empty apartment. True to His word, and in His impeccable timing, the Lord turned my mourning into dancing by giving me a second chance at life and love in the person of another helpmate. The story has brought hope to others who have faced life's disappointments through no fault of their own. Today - I am persuaded that neither life, nor death, … nor things present, nor things to come will be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.(Romans 8:38 & 39)

I remember days of sorrow when my weakness turned to shame
I felt totally abandoned though I called upon Your name
The accusers voice through others said that my faith was just too weak
Heaven surely gave an answer to the ones who weren't so meek

But one day I met the Healer in the most conspicuous place
And I found release from all the pain through His Amazing Grace
Now you ask me would I change things if I faced it all again
But I could never tell you of His healing touch if I'd never felt the pain


Well she captured my devotion through the good times and the bad
She was more than just a helper – she's the best Friend that I had
But one day she graduated – this world couldn't hold her down
Now she's dressed in robes of righteousness and she wears a victor's crown

But my lonely desperation was heard in Heaven above
And my mourning turned to dancing through the tender touch of love
Now you ask me would I change things if I faced it all again
But I could never tell you of His comfort if I'd never felt the pain


Now I glory in my weaknesses so His power can flow through me
Showing others tangled by this life that they can be set free
And I'm totally persuaded that there's nothing in this life
That can separate me from the love that I find in Jesus Christ

And though I get discouraged by the struggles of this earth
And sometimes disappointments make me wonder at its worth
Then the still small voice within me reminds me once again
Of the hope that waits to be revealed to those who've felt the pain
